Philippe Verdoux

Philippe Verdoux is an Affiliate Scholar at the IEET. He earned a BA in philosophy (with Honors) from the University of Maryland, College Park, a MS in neuroscience from Brandeis University, and spent a year as a visiting graduate student in the Department of Philosophy at Harvard University. At present, his primary research interests lie at the intersection of emerging technologies and the philosophy of mind and biology; he also has strong interests in existential risks. He has published papers in several academic journals, including the Journal of Future Studies, the Journal of Evolution and Technology, Techne: Research in Philosophy and Technology, and Erkenntnis. He has also published in magazines such as American Atheist. Prior to becoming a researcher, he spent several years writing music for television and film.
