Thanks, Russell! I still think that the title of the piece on my blog (Being Bitten to Death by Ducks) was catchier.
Richard, it's not easy indeed. But scientists must bear some of the responsibility for the prevailing climate. I wrote about this a while ago, and I will excerpt parts of the older essay as a companion piece to this one.
