I don't see much opposition to many technologies. The only ones that are opposed in more than a token way are those involving embryonic stem cells and abortion. Other forms of technology that are applied to humans get no more than token opposition. For example, no one complains that it's immoral to use cosmetics that claim to rejuvenate your skin or to have your torn anterior cruciate ligament replaced to make your knee more trustworthy. Technologies that may be realized further in the future, such as AGI may seem to some people as morally troubling as abortion, but I expect many transhumanist dreams, especially those that have little to do with sexuality and reproduction, not to face much political opposition. This goes particularly for anti-aging treatments which are on a lot of levels and obvious good. I actually see transhumanism, at least for now as a sideshow to environmental issues though radical increases in longevity or AGI may change that if they are realizable.
