Poll: Will (post)humans colonize the galaxy?

A majority of you think yes. Of the 320 respondents to the poll, almost 60% said that (post)human colonization of the galaxy was likely. One if five thought the prospects of galactic colonization were dim because of vast distances. One in six thought the prospects bad because of x-risks to the future of human civilization.

Humans should colonize the galaxy , we have the gift of great intelligence and understanding of things around us . Should our race simply die out? become space dust like the rest of the species on our planet eventually will ? No , a species such as the human race cannot die out , this may sound corny , but we need to find the secrets of the universe , populate the universe , there are hundreds of planets that are uninhabited by no living organism. I would just find it a sad ending to our earths history if , the human race simply died without a whimper with so much to know and so much to do.
