Space Station Baby Due First

December 10, 2009

According to IEET readers who answered a recently concluded poll, the first human baby born off-Earth is very likely to appear in a space station, rather than on the Moon, on Mars, or somewhere else.

Where will the first off-Earth baby be born?

Other answers given included:

  • “on Enceladus”
  • “in an alien spacecraft”
  • “in the restroom of a 747”
  • “in Hell”

Perhaps a more provocative question would have been, where will that first baby be conceived? And will the conception take place in vitro or the old-fashioned way?
